Spore Art Salon 45th Edition

Spore Art Salon 45th Edition. It was a disappointing night for me. Perhaps, I was expecting a little more in sketching than expected. At least, the consolation came from the performing artists. They were brilliant.

In any event I participate, there is always hit-and-miss. For this time, I had more misses than hits. In fact, I wasn’t impressed with myself at all. Have I raised my bar too high or I was under-performing?

The first sketch on a normal pose. 15-minute pose. I lost the excitement in this. I was expecting a little more than this.

ANJU (performer). She made quite an impact on a small stage with her routine. This was re-draw based on memory. Those I did on the spot were completely disastrous. I didn't even bother to scan them. Most probably discarding them into the trash bin soon.

ADAM ADHIYATMA (musician) doing his music while Ila Ila was doing her overhead projection of visual effect. Stunning performance. Since I couldn't see much of Adam's face from where I seated, I kept him in a silhouette.

2nd 15-minute pose. I have to splash with some other colours to make this interesting. Totally my artistic way of expressing a boring subject and pose.

OZZI G, a parkour, free-runner doing his round of poem.

Anju, came back on stage to perform a few simple moves to rally the audience to join in the fun. I captured this in a 3-5 sec glance while the crowd happily dancing away.

The last 15-minute pose. I took 8 minutes to complete this because I was having a extended smoke break. By then, I wasn't very keen in sketching anymore.
The final 15-minute pose. I took 8 minutes to complete this hastily because I was having a extended smoke break. By then, I wasn’t very keen in sketching anymore.

There were 2 performing arts sessions which I didn’t feature here but worth a mention. You can read more about them HERE.

The drawings were done in the dim-light condition except for the three 15-minute poses. I wasn’t exactly sure of how it will turn out even I knew what colours I was splashing. This chapter is over and I am looking forward to the next.
