Portrait After Dark: 04 April 2014

An eventful Friday night at Red Dot Museum at this event.

That's my illustration for the event.
That’s my illustration for the event. I would like to thank OIC Singapore‘s organiser for offering me the opportunity to showcase my work.

As usual, I drank a beer before the session, just to agitate myself out of calmness. There were many new faces and a great bunch of pretty good stuff, too.

I started off with two portraits and lost my steam.

Brush pen technique. Love the style for now. Fast and decisive strokes, unforgiving.

A pencil sketch! A technique which I have not done for like 15 years...

Then, I did my first on-scene sketch. I wanted a panorama but, since this is my first, it fell short in a way in terms of perspective. Simply love doing this kinda style. Each one captured as they were when I studied their mannerism and poses, locked down with ink.

What a wonderful evening!

Both were done in A4 landscape.

These were the artists at work. Totally focused. A few were drawn as they were exchanging tips. Total time spent: 40min

Here were the other posers for the night. Also featured the administrative assistants for the event. At the back of the posers, there were two racks for hanging the artists' masterpiece.

When the two merged, that’s where it fell short.
